Our Neighbors and Friends

Here are just a few of the volunteers that have made Mott Hasbarger Childrens Farm the great place it is today!

It takes many "hands" to keep the farm going. Here we see (L to R) Berkley Diehl, John Chintyan (Buick Job Bank Worker), Royce Carey (farrier), Bill Turkovics & Harry Graves. Berkley, Bill & Harry are part of the farm's crew of dedicated volunteers which are a vital part of our program.

As winter "ebbs toward spring, The Farms grapevines need their yearly pruning. Picture shows Erwin & Erma Reinert (Farm friends from Millington) who annually use their years of experience to prune the grapevines. Pictured on right are Leona & Harvey Reinert (Farm friends from Frankenmuth) who helped in 2001 pruning.
Farm Director, Ron Schnell, is proud to tell that Erwin & Harvey's father (Louis "Louie" Reinert) drove the team of horses pulling the "buggy" when his maternal grandparents were married.
Mott Hasbarger Children's Farm was pleased to be involved with Flint Public Librarys' hosting the beautiful & educational exhibit "The Prairie." Flint was the only stop in Michigan for this "Smithsonian" creation. This photo shows part of display M/H Farm had at The Flint Public Library.
Charlie Clark is pictured with a package (parts) he was anxiously awaiting to continue his "overhauling" of the "antique" 1939 John Deere "D" which Farmer Ron is proud to say is as old as he is. Charlie deserves a lot of recognition for tackling such an undertaking. It's "music to our ears" when hearing the gentle "put-put" of the old "work horse."
Boat "Captain" & Friend of The Farm "Dave Norris checking the computer which he & Diane Lonsway (Friend of the Farm from Florida) donated to get Farm "connected."
Joe Boegner takes time to sample pancakes which he helped prepare in farm kitchen during 2001 Ground Hogs' Day Breakfast.
Also volunteering for Ground Hogs' Day Breakfast are Kay & Gary Anderson with Farmer Bill Turkovics. BREAKTIME!
Here we see Santa (Keith Stowell) being transported back to his reindeer by Farmhand, Ron Hippensteel.
Santa rides on the new hayride wagon, made possible by a grant from Consumers Energy. Notice the snowless ground, making Santa's traveling very difficult. The farms school children enjoyed his visit.
Penny Pierson, a Mott Community College student & her son Tommy, created this sign to help recognize our neighbors, Crossroads's Village, in their 25th season.
Farmhands Keith Statler & Ron Hippensteel place sign in front yard (near RR tracks & drive) along with special 25th Anniversary Cake.
Volunteers meet near old farm house to discuss upcoming Folk Festival on the Farm.
